Harry Potter party – DIY Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans

Made my own bags, which were a fraction of the cost and much more delicious.

Printed my own labels using antique paper and small treat bags filled with Jelly Belly jelly beans.

Harry Potter party – Wands

Using the tutorial from http://boxycolonial.com/diy-harry-potter-wands/, I made wands out of dowels.

  1. Cut dowels to 12″
  2. Cover handles with hot glue.  Trial and error experience. Be generous with the glue and try different techniques.
  3. Paint with various acrylic paints.
  4. Once they were painted, use a watered-down gold paint on top of some of the details.
  5. One final coat of clear coat.

Crochet Snowflake Ornaments

After starting and stopping 4 different snowflake patterns, I landed on this one.  I needed 40 identical ones and realized these had to be three rounds at most.   I loved how they worked up.  Simple, easy to remember the pattern after a few of them and a nice size for an ornament.
